How to empty your head – The benefits of a clear mind

How to empty your head – The benefits of a clear mind

"Mind like water: A mental and emotional state in which your head is clear, able to create and respond freely, unencumbered with distractions and split focus" – David Allen

Do most days feel like you are in a washing machine? Are there so many things happening at once? Is your brain full of things you need to do and it all feels like it’s too much?

Here are some quick ways to get some peace in your mind and space in your day to find yourself

👉🏻 Sit and breath for 5 minutes to give your mind a chance to relax

👉🏻 Sit and spend 5-10 minutes writing down everything that comes into your mind, any unfinished items, projects, things you are waiting for someone to get back to you about, etc.

👉🏻 Have one spot where things are gathered before you “process them” so they don’t get lost eg a basket, in tray

👉🏻 Put things back in the same spot ie have a place for your keys, phone, bag, etc, where things ready for the morning when you leave the house in the morning you don’t have to think

👉🏻 Do you wake up in the middle of the night with things on your mind? Have a pen and paper on your bedside table so you can jot it down and go back to sleep knowing that you have captured it to do something about it in the morning

There are plenty of other ways to clear your mind, be more peaceful and relaxed, I'd love to hear your favourite ways to empty your head in the comments below.

Much love, Kelly xx
